Summer

Refresh Me
Summer is when the wild opens up. Light stretches long into the evening, and every corner of the landscape feels alive. This is the season of activity — of feeding, growing, chasing, and raising young. Nests are full. Meadows are loud. Water holes are busy. The air hums with insects. The forest breathes with heat. There is no stillness now — only motion.
For many animals, summer is about survival through activity. Food is everywhere, but so are threats. Predators teach their young to hunt. Prey species grow fast, learning to move, hide, and outrun. Birds are on their second or third broods. Bears range farther, deer shed their spring coats, reptiles bask on sun-warmed rocks, and amphibians sing from pond edges late into the night.
This is the peak — when nature feels bold, loud, and fully awake. And every trail, shoreline, and open field carries signs of life at its fullest.
